What is WT Sport Sparring?
WT Sport Sparring is the Olympic-style format of Taekwondo, focusing on speed, precision and scoring. It involves controlled contact, timed rounds and specific competition rules.
Is sparring safe for children and beginners?
Yes. Sparring is taught in a controlled environment with appropriate protective gear and supervision. Beginners are eased in gradually to build confidence and learn safely.
Do I have to compete in tournaments if I do sparring?
Not at all. While some students train for competition, many join sparring classes simply for fitness, skill-building or fun. Participation in tournaments is entirely optional.
